Plagiarism or not, this song transports you to a different world and chills you out for 4 minutes. Anirudh’s lifting vocals during ‘Enakku kalyana vayasu dhan vandhiduchu di’ is so hummable and catchy along with his abrupt truncation of the words ‘Nikkuren, Sikkuren, Suthuren, Saavuren’. I have liked his rendition in ‘Merselayitten’ and now I am officially a fan of Anirudh’s swag in singing – the way he captures all moods and stages them effortlessly. While this track entertains vocally, the accentuating gizmos in the background sounding ethereal like a malfunctioning toy robot adds a major charm. Sivakarthikeyan’s lyrics also fits the funny mood of the track showcasing the unshakeable self-confidence of a man who is proud to be benevolent stalker of a beautiful woman across the street. It is different from the usual songs showing the self-deprecating attitude of men when they see beautiful women as unreachable. It is in essence an uncanny mockery piece of the man in the lyricist’s point of view. ‘Kalyana Vayasu’ is addictive and an instant favorite!
